United Airlines - My Mileage Plus Website Redesign, Tutorial

In 2010, United Airlines decided to dramatically change the look of the My Mileage Plus website. The redesign would leverage their image library to create a consistent look across all communication platforms, as well as update the tone to reflect the new voice of United Airlines.

Once the new look was established, we needed to create a clean and simple way of walking members through the new site so they would know where to find the information they were looking for. The screen shots that follow are examples of this tutorial.

Welcome Page - explains the new and improved My Mileage Plus, and invites members to have a look around the site.

Mileage Statement - Second to booking travel, this is the main draw for members. They want to know how close they are to attaining the next level of elite status, or to redeeming an award.

Earn and Use Miles - Here we identify the new icons members will encounter when trying to redeem or earn miles.

New locations - Here we walk members through familiar content that has changed - program names and/or content locations - to make navigating the new site seamless.
